I'm working on finding out my best overclocking settings. My proc is a 2.8C P4 on stock air. At 221 FSB (3.1Ghz) and a 1:1 ratio with 1.68Vcore and 3/4/4/8 timings I was able to run the combo Prime95 Torture test for an hour b4 I got an error. I know its not truely stable, but for average uses including games like Doom3, and Adobe products rendering, shouldnt it be stable enough for my needs? How much more intense is Prime95 than things I will use?
 
thats all i do, 1 hour, sometimes not even. You don't have anything to worry about, those timings are pretty damn relaxed. If you happen to run into any errors up the vdimm and vcore up one notch.

I game a lot and use photoshops often, no problem

Yea, those are loosest timings possible. Actualy they are my stock too but i have 2.5 rather than 3. I figured loosen up the timings, get a good stability... then try and tighten them a bit. Good approach or bad?
 
I do the opposite, Tight as hell, if it boots then smile, once it screws up in windows, up the vdimm. if that doesnt work then start to loosen. But both still works and im gonna assume that we both agree that trial and error sucks
