Can anyone recommend a good shareware wipe format utilty for wiping a drive clean before i sell my computer?

Seriously, I'd like to know a answer to this also. I looked high wide and narrow for a disk wiper quite some time ago to no avail.
 
you can use bootitng, works good for me, when it asks you to install hit cancel and you will go into maintiance mode where you can do your partition work
 
Aren't there utilities that most drive manufacturers make that will write 1's and 0's to the dirve?
 
Yeah you're right. WD has a built in wiper in the Data Lifegaured utility. Alot of the disk makers do today.
 
Thanks guys.. it was for a laptop drive (for sale in the "for sale forum", coincedentally) so i didnt have a hd install disk. I ended up using a program called ERASER.
