my friend tried to copy his HD over from an old 30 gig HD to a new 80 gig ... he used casper XP ..... i had never heard of it.... and now an erorr comes up when he tries to boot his computer ... it says error NTMBDL or something is missing .... i think it may have to do with he upgraded to XP from 98 and it kept the old crappy FAT32 instead of changing to NTFS ... now his 80 gig Hd .. even after formatting says its capacity is only 27.6 gigs like his older one how did we lose 50 gigs? and can we fet them back?

Format the drive and reinstall windows normally.

If the xp disk is an upgrade all you need to do is insert the win98 cd while setup asks. You dont need to install 98 first.
