So I've currently got my drives suspended with elastic so absorb the vibrations, but I think the elastic is wearing out because the drives seem to have sunk much lower than they were when i first installed them like that. I'm looking for a more sturdy solution, and came across this: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=127&products_id=23379 does anyone have any experience with this? I tried something similar to it a while ago, the Zalman seen here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118215 and it worked quite well. I've since installed it in my sister's machine, and I would just get a couple more of those except these nexus things are only 10 bucks and can hold two drives whereas the Zalmans are 20 bucks each and I've got two drives to deal with. Has anyone tried these, or are there any good reviews on them?

I don't know about those but anything other than suspension, simply put, will not be as good. Why don't you just replace the plastic or get something more robust? I've used some elastic bungie type cord with success.

I have 2 of the Logisys brand hd silencers. Google them. they completely enclose the hd, make it a TON quieter, and fit it into a 5.25'' bay. Also look damn cool.

The Nexus Disktwin silenced my raptor's seek noise to 32dba. Down from 44dba

WELL worthwhile.

This was originally one very large/thick rubber band, which I cut in half length-wise. It was thicker than anything I could find with a comparable width to something that would fit through the 5.25" mounting bracket.
