I'm running a new HP workstation and I've got XP x64 installed on it, the specs are

2x Opeteron 285 Nforce Professional Chipset
4gb Ram
74gb WD Raptor (OS installed here)
500gb WD SATA drive
250gb WD SATA drive
Geforce 7800gt
x-fi xtreme gamer
700w power supply

so i'm getting this odd problem when XP boots up. I shows the loading screen, the scroll bar starts going, i begin to hear hard drive access and then i hear a little click and it sounds like the hard drive powers down and then back on. The scroll bar keeps scrolling, but, XP ends up never loading and I have to reboot. Sometimes it will load the OS though so its not like it happens everytime. when i'm in windows i'm completely stable and have no issues. I've tried unplugging other hard drives to see if its a power issue and it still happens. has anyone else experienced this or could you shed some light on what could cause this? I did have XP 32 bit installed on this system and this problem didn't occur with it. I can't be certain, but I think it could be a problem with SP2 for x64. I may try a clean install and I'll keep from installing SP2. any help would be greatly appreciated!
