I am about to switch out my current hard drives (which are failing) for a new set.
My pc is up 24/7 so I require fast and reliable hard drives that would be up for the task.
I decided to go with 2 Western Digital Raptor WD740ADFD (74GB) and 2 Western Digital Caviar RE2 WD4000YR (400GB).
My only issue is that my motherboard is slightly outdated and I am not sure if I can run all of them at once.
My Main board is a MSI 875P Neo (rev.A2) which has an ICH5R and a Promise 20378 for another 2 SATA ports.
Now onto the question:
Am I correcting in thinking I can set up both Raptors on the southbridge's SATA connectors as 2 single drives and the 2 Caviar REs as a RAID 1 set up?
Would that leave me with 3 drives in windows? Or will I be facing some errors that prevent this?
