If I have a IDE drive as master can I also use a SATA drive together? Or, if I have an IDE drive can I use a SATA drive with it at all? Thanks
 
while your question isn't very clear I think you're trying to ask if you can have two hard drives with different interfaces in the same system...

If that is your question, then the answer is yes.
 
Yeah, you can use your IDE with a SATA and yes you can Have your IDE as Master, and still make the SATA Drive the primary drive that holds the OS.
 
My apologies for not being very clear. So, for example, can I take the IDE that is what holds the OS and keep that primary while making the SATA a slave? If so, is there any type of jumper configuration that needs to be done?
 
Sure, just make sure the disks are in the proper "boot from" order and all will be well. It's suggested that you leave out all but the disk you're installing Windows to, though, so you don't inadvertently nuke the wrong disk.

If only I had done that when I reformatted this last time, luckily I had everything backed up.
