Hard Drive Problems

I was recently having trouble with my computer not posting (it was the memory), but in my attempt to fix it I disconnected the hard drives, and now both of them aren't working (80gb and 120gb IDE). I can't get them to work connected to the IDE cable internally or in an external case (which works for another drive). Any suggestions? I want to be able to get the information off of them and then format them. Thanks!

You said you tried them in external cases as well (such as a USB enclosure). If you put them an a USB enclosure, will another computer recognize them?

You say you can't get them to work. Can you elaborate on that? Are they recognized by your BIOS?

I just tried it on a laptop; it recognizes the drive in windows under the device manager, but it says, "No drivers are installed for this device." I can't see the drive under My Computer either. And yes, the BIOS recognizes them but it won't boot them and lists a MAC address, so I'm assuming it's trying to boot from the LAN since it can't use the DVD-ROM or the hard drives.

It also lists two other error messages:
PXE-E53: No boot filename received
PXE-MDF: Exiting Nvidia Boot Agent

Not sure how (if they are) related to this issue.

Thanks for the help!

Wow, just discovered the problem. Somehow, pins on BOTH of the hard drives managed to get ripped off! I managed to jerry-rig one of the drives, and I'm getting the information off. Hopefully I can do the same to the other and somehow solder the pins back on.
