i have a 80gb hard drive which was too big for my old computer's motherboard to recognize (32gb limit), so i limited the size of the hard drive to 20gb by using maxtor's maxblast software. however, i have purchased an adapter which is supposed to allow me to use the full capacity of the hard drive (80 gb), but it still recognizes the hard drive as only 20gb. i've tried zeroing out the drive but to no avail. is there something i need to do to reset the max capacity of the hard drive back to the full 80gb?

format the MBR as well. FDISK can do it, but I like GDISK better.

From my experience (at least with WD), when there was a drive that was too large for an old board, you could install some EZ-BIOS software with it, so the full capicity would be recognized. You may want to check maxtors site about that.
