Hard Drive Partition problem...data lost

hey guys...looking for help here. i've got 2 hard drives...one 120gb (c drive) and the other is a 160 which is the d drive(127) the rest was partitioned off to E drive...anyways i recently formatted and installed fresh XP, but now i can't get any data off my E drive, it says "the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." can anyone point me in the direction for some answers on what i have to do? any help would be great...thanks again
 
what has sp2 to do with unaccesible data?
