i installed a 160 gig samsung hard drive today as a slave to a 80 gig wd hd on my asus a7n8x. when i booted, it wouldn't acknoweldge either of the drives. i unplugged the new hd, and everything works fine. is there something wrong with my hard drive?

Check to see if you have both of them jumpered to Master.......the secondary will have to be set to slave to get them to work.

1. Go into BIOS and make sure Auto Detection is enabled for HDDs

2. Try another IDE cable

3. Check for bent pins on added drive

try it on another computer, if it works then exchange it, if it doesnt work then send it to the company, go to the website fill out a rma and send it
