Hard drive not seen in XP

I have a 120 gig drive that shows up in bios but does not show up in xp...all drivers are installed and newest updates...all cables are fine, drive gets power....tried on raid card aswell as mobo ide....jumpers are fine...WTF?

the new drive is not formatted so that XP can reconize it. do a little FDISK action on that thing, then xp will see it, and formatt it in either FAT32 or NTFS. Mind you XP sees it as hardware, as in, you can see it in the device manager, it just doesnt come up in My Computer cuase its not formatted right. hope that helped

It's not a new drive...it has data on it

See if you can see it in device manager or computer management.
