Hard Drive Lettering Question

Minor annoyance, but it got me curious.

  1. Received new Samsung 2tb hd.
  2. Removed old 400g hd (drive H).
  3. Install new hd.
  4. Can't pick letter H as assignment.

Any way to do this without reattaching the old drive, changing the letter to something else, then hooking up the new one again?
 
If the GUI won't let you make the drive letter changes you want you can go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\mounteddevices and switch things round manually. I think you have to reboot for changes made this way to take affect.

Don't touch the mapping for the system drive or any mappings wich aren't for drive letters
If it breaks you keep both peices ;)
