Hard Drive Failure??

Problem suddenly started today. Moving files between two sata drives and things just stopped.

Checked event viewer and got these:

Error: The device, \Device\Harddisk0\DR0, is not ready for access yet.
Warning: An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 during a paging operation.

Running Windows 7 x64

What's going on??

Install and run CrystalDiskInfo to see for yourself if one or more of your drives believe they are having problems..

The drive in question is showing CAUTION

Should I try to move everything off asap? I was actually in the process of transferring some stuff and it kept failing. Ran Checkdisk last night and it said it fixed some errors.

Incidentally, this is my primary drive for torrenting. I just upgraded to 30/25 FIOS on Sunday and have been chugging along at max a lot the entire week... could that have contributed to this?

Usually when CrystalDiskInfo says CAUTION you should get a backup of your disk ASAP especially when the raw Current Pending Sector Count or Uncorrectable Sector Count are not zero.

Disk activity can make a bad disk die faster.

ID 05 - Reallocated Sectors Count - 90 / 90 / 10 [Current / Worst / Threshold]
ID C5 - Current Pending Sector Count - 99 / 99 / 0

BTW, the raw # is more useful to me.

The raw Current Pending Sector Count should indicate the # of sectors that had data on them and that the drive can not read anymore.
