I just got a laptop, but its got a lot less space than my 200gb raid array in my old comp so i want to get a good enclosure for a drive i have.

What do you guys use and what don't you like about what you use?
 
bytecc off of newegg. its 35 dollars and really nice
 
I'd suggest getting something constructed of aluminum & w/ a built-in fan. My preference is also a 3.5" enclosure w/ both USB2 & firewire. If mobility of the external HD is not important, the extra bulk & need for external power source when using a 3.5" HD shouldn't be an issue......Personally, I got the AMS Venus DS3 from newegg.com
 
I use a cheapo CompUSA brand USB 3.5" enclosure. Even with USB 2.0, I'm only getting like 20MB/s or so off of it. But, it's only used to store anime, MP3s, and other random stuff, so it works great. Anything that I REALLY need speed for (My 8GB DVD ISOs) I throw on my internal SATA drive (Probably not an option for a laptop :D)
