Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I'd suggest getting something constructed of aluminum & w/ a built-in fan. My preference is also a 3.5" enclosure w/ both USB2 & firewire. If mobility of the external HD is not important, the extra bulk & need for external power source when using a 3.5" HD shouldn't be an issue......Personally, I got the AMS Venus DS3 from newegg.com
I use a cheapo CompUSA brand USB 3.5" enclosure. Even with USB 2.0, I'm only getting like 20MB/s or so off of it. But, it's only used to store anime, MP3s, and other random stuff, so it works great. Anything that I REALLY need speed for (My 8GB DVD ISOs) I throw on my internal SATA drive (Probably not an option for a laptop )
