Recently purchased a hard drive enclosure off NewEgg and put a hard drive in it that had a good amount of media files on it. It worked fine at first, but I left it hooked up to my laptop while the laptop was under battery power-- I'm not sure what happened, but I suspect it had something to do with the power settings on the laptop doing something to the hard drive (which was connected via USB), and when I came back, it had a couple of error messages saying that the drive was unaccessable and that data had been lost. It's hooked up to my desktop right now and when I try to access it it says, "The drive is not accessible, the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." There was 40GB of data on that drive-- is there anything I can do to get at least some of it back?
