Hard Drive Dock

I own that particular dock and it does work very well. The drives you put in it are even bootable. Not much to complain about, it does it its supposed to.

Thanks, criccio.

What's the longest period you've used a drive in the dock at a time? Does it tend to get hot over time? What might be some of the known potential problem using such set up for hours on end?

None that I can think of. The devices circuitry spins the drive down after some time. Its open air design also keeps the drive cool.

O no, it just spins it down. Like the drives in your computer if you have them set to. Saves power.

Only downside is if the drive is spun down and you try to access it, there is a second or two delay for it to spin back up.

Completely normal operation, all drives do this if you have the feature turned on in Windows.
