can somebody help me with this? there is a little icon in my taskbar that says Safely Remove Hardware, but it's my HARD DRIVE!!!!

i have a Samsung SATA 160GB SP1614C. i'm not experiencing any problems, but the little icon is annoying. :)

if someone knows how to fix the problem, or just get rid of the icon, PLEASE TELL ME!
 
I thought some motherboards that allowed hot swapping of SATA ports had them configured this way?
 
yeah, sata is hot swapable, but you wouldnt want to do that on the OS drive... dont know how to get rid of it though...

just live with it i guess
 
Try this:

Right click "My Computer" (my confuser?) and select "Manage" in "Computer Management" click on "Device Manager" expand "Disk Drives" right click your drive and select "Properties" in "Properties" choose the "Policies" tab and choose "Optimize for Performance" or "Optimize for Quick Removal" (try them both, but QR might slow your drive down a bit)
