hey guys,
i am looking to build a system (my first time solo) sometime in the next couple months. i have seen articles reviewing HD coolers. my question is, does anyone acutally use these? do they notice a longer life on their HDs?

thanks for the feedback; these forums have been very helpful so far!

i've only heard of people using hd coolers on WD Raptors, they've been known to run pretty hot. I have a 2 seagates and they don't get hot at all, not even warm really so it would be no point. depends on the brand i guess. do some research on a particular hard drive.

If you've got a good case, the front intake will blow cool air over your drives. That's all you need.
