if that link works those are the 3 fans i'm comparing but here are individual fans

ps. my HD temps sometimes hit 70C :(

wow 70C whaty are you useing to show temps i have a hard drive cooler and a temp monitor and my temps are 38C full load (wd 7200 80G hd ) is there problems with your computer that might be caused by the high temps ( if not then im not sure the hd is hitting 70C )

High drive temps are often simply a case air-flow problem - no air flow stream over hard drives.

This is very common, particularly in newer cases. Drives are still positioned at case-front, but front-to-back air flow is screwed up by 'features' such as:
- Side-vents that provide side-to-exhaust flow path.
- Side-mount drive cages that restrict air flow over drives.
- Restrictive front bezels and filters.
- Restrictive case fan grills.

My case had all of these problems to some degree. Hard drive cooling is pretty much ignored in many cases.

Hope this helps!

Get the cheapest one, all you need is the airflow from the fans the aluminum casing doesnt do much if anything.

ive got two raptor 74gb, and i got two of those vantec coolers on my hdd's. probably keeps em cool enough. i dont hear em over all the other noise in my case either ;)

and it just looks cool too ;)

naw it won't fit around the hd area

ima put a fan blowing thru my case panels [intake/exhaust] and 2 at the middle/back as [intake/exhaust]

hopefully it helps

I don't use fan coolers on my drives anymore becauise I had dust accumulate on one drive and blow the circuit board. You really can't see what's going on until you take something apart.

What I'm doing instead is running extra cooling tube around the harddrives on it's way back to the resevoir. It helps somewhat. Also, you might wanna get some of those 65cfm fans from Radio Shack. They're cheap, but they do move the air.

that's scary, would it be safe to take a HD cover off to clean it?
