Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Hey guys, just put together my first computer and now it's showing that my harddrive is a removable disk. What did I do wrong? It works and everything it's just I don't want that icon popping up everytime I load windows. Help! thanks
is it a SATA drive? Do you have an nForce (4?) motherboard? did you install the nVidia drivers for your mobo, including the IDE driver?
If you answered yes to all these questions, then the nVidia IDE/SATA driver is the 'perpetrator'. Unlike the Windows native driver, it allows for SATA drives to be hotplugged, which is pretty f'n cool imho. Without the driver, you will not see the 'safely remove hardware' icon, but you will also be missing out on being able to plug in a SATA hdd and accessing it from windows while your PC is running.
Hey gunman I think you're right, under the BIOS my hardrive is plugged into the "Third", not primary. IS that what you mean? This is a problem because my freakin FX card is so long its covering the top left one.
