Hey, I just wanted to put this somewhere permanent.

I’ve tried a number of haptic transducers lately trying to figure out how I can implement tactile haptics into future projects, and into games.

I’ve tried the:
Dayton BST-1
Dayton BST-300EX
ButtKicker Advance
ButtKicker LFE

I’ve heard conflicting information online, they’re all the same, you don’t need a strong one for a small chair, etc… TLDR; the ButtKickers performed far better. Both the Dayton models felt like sitting on an electric toothbrush while the buttkickers actually had a sense of force. The LFE was clearly the best at replicating things like engine feel in racing simulators, maybe 300% better in comparison to the BST-300EX and the Advance was not much better than the BST-300EX, maybe 50%. Surprisingly, the LFE caused the room to be quietest in use, while the others caused it to create a bit of noise being on a second story. I haven’t tried using a crossover and two on one channel yet. The bHaptics vest and those high resolution haptic seat pads they make for sim racing seem pretty interesting. If anyone has had experience with other types of haptic transducers it would be great to hear your experiences.
