Happy Star Wars Day! In case you didn't know it, May the 4th is Star Wars Day. Be prepared for a bunch of nerdy "May the Fourth be with you" jokes and friends and family wanting you to do a movie marathon today.

Star Wars Day, May 4, celebrates Star Wars created by George Lucas. It is observed by fans of the films. Observance of the holiday spread quickly due to Internet, social media, and grassroots celebrations. The date was chosen for the easy pun on the catchphrase "May the Force be with you"— "May the Fourth be with you". Even though the holiday was not actually created or declared by Lucasfilm, many Star Wars fans across the world choose to celebrate the holiday.

RIP My star wars weekends at Disney :( This would've been my 6th year

Any good sales anywhere? Last year there was a lot more going on at Amazon/Target, etc - All i see is a $10 gift card to target if you spend $50 on regularly priced SW gear...

Being that I walked out of the last movie I'm not to optimistic about what Disney will do with Star Wars. Of course the 3 movies before it were so bad C3P0 cried and was inconsolable.

Not sure how hot they are but Best Buy does have few SW sale prices, at least compared to the prices they listed May 3rd.

Have two kids who are obsessed and you'll feel the force of commercialism even stronger - but to be fair, there can never be enough millenium falcons in my home

Yes indeed, having kids also I understand perfectly.... Having cut the cable cord many years ago helped quite a bit. If anything as they are getting older it is making them more aware of what advertising is. I also explained to them the goal of advertising, and they are getting quite good at picking up on it.

Oh, this explains why Fandango sent me an e-mail that I can rent the latest Star Wars movie for "4" dollars.

well at least i dont feel alone.. i rented it and finished it... just don't see the 'greatness' anywhere... just entertaining... like so many movies.. plus its almost like a freaking repeat, that was just pathetic.

I remember back when I was on ForumOC, the whole forum was Star Wars themed. I had an imagine in my signature with tie fighters and imperial guards; I think I did more image editing for signatures about current/future builds than any other reason!

Isn't their such an number of SW geeks at Disney that it's pushes Christmas for the busyness in the park?

They decided to cancel the event to build up hype for the new star wars themed area of Hollywood Studios, which is still many years away..

yes story wise, it was not good, and Kylo is a complete JOKE.

His only role was to kill Han Solo. A joke otherwise.

At least when Ep.1 we had Darth Maul and he was a bad ass. His only role was to kill Quigon Jin. He was pretty awesome, though.
