I just got my hanns g 28'' today and its really nice. I was all for having a triple monitor setup either from a 23''+ to 27'' but It just seems I bought this for the hell of it and now Im under the impression it might look kind of stupid if I had three hanns g monitors, what do you think.

I dont want to put another monitor either side because I want to render six documents at a time, so Im thinking of putting two screens on the top as well as two screens either side.

This could end up wasting my time because I think I will have to custom build a stand. It would be nice though it I had that setup.

Maybe I could four vertical screens, two either side. This might work quite well but I dont expect the resolution to match up perfectly, doesnt matter though. what do you think?

Im a litle annoyed,,who knows it could cost me more to buy four extra monitors now than my first intention of having only three.
I payed £220, havent removed the screen protector so still have 3 months to consider selling it and going for something else,,,although I do kind of like it,,,,,I dont want to be have bought six monitors then be like why didnt I just spend same money and buy three 16:9 ones at like 24''.

lol I can see myself in about four months time now with three hanns g 27.5'' monitors.

does anyone have any information about triple screen ps3 playing? if its even possible.
My gut tells me three hanns g monitors is the way forward.....hmm i dont know

Why don't you just run three across? How big are these documents? I can resize windows to fit two web browsers, etc on my hannspree no prob with 16:10 ratio. two per screen would make 6 across. Can't you scale or zoom the documents?

Borrowed this pic of the show your lcd setup thread. I dont think it looks stupid at all, though I would skip on the cabinets.

It might be cheaper to set your desk back from a wall and use painted plywood or a wood frame on a wall + wall mounts if you still decide to go with a crazy # of monitors. Three hannsg/hannspree 28" are around $250 each ~ $750. If you had the $ you could look at higher rez monitors too, but that is around 4x as much per monitor. Another option would be one high rez monitor and/or some other monitors in portrait mode. It really depends on what you mean by documents and what native rez and dimensions those docs are.

yeah i saw this picture a while back and thought it was pretty good.

I have been threading on here to find the information as to how two pdfs renderred on the hanspree.
I have two documents up fine but had to lower the pixels per inch in the preferences of adobe to 87 from 120 which I was using on my old 19''. I guess I was expecting to use the 110 or 120 pixels per inch as i had but i cant remember,,basically i didnt research this enough,,,as i think a 24'' 1920x1200 would be just as good without extra grey in adobe to each side,,,but I could be wrong. The vertical height of the documents looks good and is actually a cm bigger than an actual a4 document. when i was researching i never actually held up a document to the screen,,partly because I was only on a 19''.

I dont know if a 24'' would be better giving the same height at 87 pixels per inch and same width with less grey to the sides than what I have and to be honest im too busy to research it in the next 2 months.

the only reason It would be unfortunate is that I could be running three 24'' 1920x1200 doing the same job but beter quality monitors than three 27.5'' hanns g. I will do the trigonemtry at some point and figure out if id get the nice height(documents) on a 24'' 1920x1200, if there are any affordable ones similar to this hanns and/or if a 24-27'' 1920/1080 would be just as good(although i doubt it) as I do quite like the 16:10 aspect ratio.

lol,, I could be wasting screen space and quality but I havent got the time to consider this atm,,,I will be back in a few months to consider what triple setup I really should be getting. I will create a thread entitled,'hold up your a4 document to your monitor in adobe with side by side renderring :p''

thnx for now for the pic ::p :D
ps my budget for screen setup is like ,,the above picture. £660-£700

wall to wall brackets, omg lol i will be back in a few months to look at that then :p,,,theres no doubt these hanns 28 are nice though! maybe there no more quality is getting 24'' 1920x1200's.

unless someone can convince me otherwise im set on getting the above picture setup I think!

sorry ,,to answer you question ,,was it run three across(three documents across one screen),,I dont think adobe x pro lets you do thayt or any other adobe program. besides I will be opening three separate files of documents so three screens are needed in that respect. btw which hanns do you have,,,I got the HH281 with the wineglass base. Was wandering if you knew when this version came out and its differences to the old one ''.

The only console triple screen setups I had heard of were retarded requiring three consoles and three copies of the game. There are more exciting ways to be wasteful with money.

I'd stick with just two additional monitors.

If you're going to be watching vids/movies, etc on it, then a portrait, landscape, portrait setup w/ two smaller monitors left and right of your 28" would be nice.

Otherwise, I would go w/ three 28" but set them up in portrait. You can always easily use a grid software program to split your portrait screens into two quadrants to act like two monitors.

hmm nice idea on the triple portrait of hanns but it wouldn't work because the bottom edge is lightly curved. it would look too bad to be an option i think.

thanks for the info about the consoles though, not that im going to do that!

I will probably just watch movies on on screen if I have triple landscape hanns g 28 setup then. I can use the other two to do other stuff while watchin movies.

i know this is a stupid question but what is nvidea? is it an alternative eyefinity?

I would highly suggest not wasting your time with the hannsg in portrait mode as I have a quad monitor with one up top in landscape on an articulating arm and to say the least the viewing angles make it unusable even if your level with it. It just doesn't do well in portrait mode at all while I do find it adequate in landscape even at a decent angle.

I have been trying to get a valid comparison of monitors for documents,,these pictures below prove tat actually the hanns is better than a 16:10 24'' as in adobe x pro I can have the two toobares to the left and the document is still 'actual size' . The pictures with the program smaller I measured to be 24'' diagonally in 16:10 and you can see the picture is significantly smaller when editing documents. as you know the first two images are the hanns full screen at 27.5'' diagonal

:D

Although arguably without the two side toolbars a 24'' is just fine,,but adobe x pro among other programs with left toolbars are often excellent for editing the popular pdf. no doubt ms word would be fine on a 24'',,I would like to hear what people think.

hey i was just lucky choosing the hanns then , never considered those side bars,,but I use them all the time . Oh and for the record I changed the pixel er inch from 110 to 87 and the ruler as you can see is exact to when I held up my actual ruler to the screen.

If somewhere out there,,,,could possibly do this comparison on a 27'' 16:9 you would be very helpful!

notice the percentage change ranges from 99% to 75% , thse things matter :p

how about two hanns on top of one another and two vertical lcds tv's monsters either side? I have feeling that would be insane!
