All computer components are okay whatever way they are placed in a computer case right?

I have an mATX mobo and I want a really small case. I want to make a case where it fits diagonally in the case + upside down...

Thanks!

orientation shouldn't make a difference

Just make sure that you have the same amount of grounding for the components in your case to prevent electrical problems.

The only place where orientation might make a difference is your hard drive. At least keep it parallel to the ground. There's always something a little uncomforting about a hard drive on its side.

meh, it really doesnt matter how they are oriented as long as you arent moving them around much during operation. I had a hard drvie haning out the side by the cable for a year and its still running right now.....but not out the side lol

optical drives and hard drives you should mount vertically or horizontally, not really designed to work at an angle. Although they usually will work just fine that way. You can check a manufacturer's website and they will give you specs as to operating temperatures and other stuff and you should be able to find the angles that it can be mounted at.
