I just finished putting together my new machine and i'm puzzled
After installing windows and enabling SLI I encounter a problem. When booting up, my machine just hangs where it lists all the IRQ's (right before the XP boot screen)

If I load up the boot menu and specify which drive i want to boot off of, it loads fine. I don't get it. I currently have the newest vid drivers (7.8).

Specs:
AMD 64 X2 4800+
ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe
2 x BFG 7800GTX
Raptor 36.7 (OS drive)
2 x 80GB WD 7200 SATA (Raid 0)
2GB Dual Channel PC3200
SB Audigy 2 ZS Gamer

If anyone has any idea's, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

-Chaco

Is this a problem you encountered on first boot after assembling or we're you able to get into windows a few times before this started to happen?

Have you checked for a new BIOS version?

You stated you enabled SLI, where did you do that? In the Bios? By flipping the SLI card on the mobo?

You didn't mention how big or what kind of PS you have in your system. I'm guessing that it isn't crap since you dropped what $3000 on this system so far. You may want to consider swapping it out. It could be weak and with all the hardware you have in your system...

I haven't really messed with SATA too much but maybe the order in which they are plugged into the Mobo has something to do with boot order. Check the manual and see if that is the case.

Good luck

When you open up the BIOS and go to boot order -> hard drive boot order is the correct drive at the top? If not change, save, reboot, observe.

This is a problem I only encountered after enabling SLI (in windows). In BIOS SLI is on "Auto" i believe. I have not checked for a new BIOS version though. Just weird that everything was fine until it was enabled. Boot order is HD first, even though that shouldn't give me this problem even if it wasn't.

PSU: SILVERSTONE SST-ST60F ATX 600W Power Supply

Everything runs fine once in windows, it's just frustrating having to specify everytime i boot up.

Also something else that I just found interesting. I don't know if i've never noticed or what, but is this supposed to happen? (take a look at the CPU Usage)

weird?
