I'm looking to upgrade soon and my QPack has been through some abuse, so much so that it is just becoming too warped for me to want to continue using after another upgrade process.

I'm looking primarily at the Thermaltakes Lanbox:

I'm wondering though whether I'll bother with the handle. The primary issue being that it will be a LAN box so I want to be able to move it, but I already have a Silverstone Sugo bag that I use for transportation and carrying of my PC and all accessories. It may come down to me not bothering to take it off as I've heard it will fit in a sugo bag with the handle, but I'd like to know before I buy the case if removing the handle is even an option...

I was at Microcenter the other day, and they got a bunch of LanBoxes in. That handle is a beast.. much more sturdy than I had imagined. But, I think it did have screws holding it on. Its not the same material as the rest of the case, so its held on somehow. I'm sure its easily removable, but hopefully others will chime in that own it already.

That handle is killer. You can kill people with it, seriously.

Did anyone actually confirm that Thermaltake's LanBox will fit in Sugo's SUGOPACK bag?

And if it does fit, does the handle get in the way?

Thanks,
Heretik

They do have a version without a handle. Although it has no plexi windows, it is $20 cheaper or something like that.

I'm looking at getting on because it does have a handle. I do a fair bit of lan gaming and it'll be nice to have.

One thing to know about TT cases in case you didn't is that the black ones are always steel and the silver aluminum. The silver ones usually are about half the weight as well... I have a black Armor... Weighs a ton... literally...

Now I just need a carrier for my monitor...

EDIT:: Found a review that talked about the handle a bit. It is removable. http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/other/display/thermaltake-lanbox_5.html

You want me to check today? I'd be happy to test it out in my SUGO Pack.

By the way, the black one is very heavy compared to the silver but I sell them all anyway :)

If you want a silver one with the handle I got a good price on one I can give you. PM me and I'll let you know.

Just by looking at the Tt Lanbox handle it looks sturdy enough to cleave in someone's skull if you swung it at them. I guess Tt wanted to make sure people would have a good handle on their lanboxes.

Steeeve, if you can actually try fitting a Thermaltake LanBox in a SUGOpack, I'd be terribly grateful. I'm leaning toward the LanBox that doesn't have a handle, so take that into account if need be.

Thanks in advance,
Heretik
