Halo 3 on PC?

Great, now he can aim much better than everyone else at xbox live now that he's the one with a mouse, and actually win.

From the description

emulador de halo 1 + emulador de halo 2 + CD ROM HALO 3 360 + windows angelical (windos xp/ windos vista)+ sis. operativo = PLAY halo 3 in pc

so he's using an emulator some how.

Its obviously fake, but instead of talking about how "halo sux" how about we hypothesize about how he faked it. Some kind of overlay maybe?

Thinking an hdmi or component in from an xbox360, and using TV tuner software so he's just viewing the 360 input as a channel, while still having explorer running

Wow, that looked pretty poor, could have fooled me with it being real . You'd think they would have a bit more camera control?

Could he have just recorded a video and then pretend to be clicking things on it while it's playing fullscreen?

It would be easy to fake this, by just using an input capture card like a GameBridge or WinTV.

Looks an awful lot like he's controlling the character with an ANALOG STICK judging by the movement. Easy to fake and not impressive either way.

You damn dirty apes!! stop hating on halo just because it's got a great story and a kickass trilogy why must you nerds hate it? lol crysis? well maybe in 10 years when there's computers powerful enough to run it on very high i'll consider playing it. In the mean time i'll play a game 10 times better than it that I don't have to spend a fortune on and looks great HALO 3 SUCKERS!! *activate hate shield* muahahah

^ The fact that Halo 3 looks considerably worse than CoD4 and running at frames much lower than CoD4, I wouldn't be so cheerful just yet.

If you haven't played Crysis, don't presume that it is or is not "better" overall than Halo, or any other game, just because you can't run it. Its requirements are what they are, and the corresponding graphics are not a lie.

An overclocked Q6600 and 8800GT (not exactly bank-breakers in terms of gaming PC components) will run Crysis on Very High at 720p (higher than Halo 3's 640p) fine.

For what it's worth, I enjoy Halo, too. It was what attracted me back into modern gaming after a long hiatus.

But, sidestepping the actual subjective merits of console vs. PC, or gamepad vs. keyboard/mouse, and just focusing on the objective differences, the concept of Halo 3 on the PC is nothing to be excited about, if only for this reasoning:

- If it were straight emulated, the console controls, auto-aim, and sweep sniping in the original would not translate well to the standard keyboard/mouse combination.

- On the other hand, a rewrite and rebalancing of the gameplay code to work with keyboard and mouse takes time to develop and QA/playtest, by which time the game will definitely be past its prime, and anyone interested in the Halo franchise will have moved on to focus on the next release. Sorry, but I don't think that many Halo fans were that interested in Halo 2 Vista, and, even though the Vista-only stigma was a problem, the indifference had partially to do with the game's age and the interest in Halo 3.

Crysis runs pretty damn smooth here at 1600x1200, 16xAF. 2x Edge AA, all on a custom Very High config at 30+ FPS average throughout.

Ignorance of what it takes to run it smooth should not be an excuse.

Oh, and as noted by TKD, a Q6600 and a GTS (card I used prior to upgrading) are not really bank breakers -- both the CPU and GPU can be had for a about the same price as a X360 console in fact, and will run the game at 2-3 times the resolution that Halo3 runs at, while maintaing the same level of framerates.

What you get in return are graphics that won't be coming to a console near you at least until the next iteration of the Xbox comes out, or the PS4 for that matter.

5 bucks says when it comes out for pc soon, it will only be playable on windows 7....

5 bucks says when it comes out for pc, it'll be just like halo 2 was population wise for the pc.

I really don't think it's a fake. Possibly a fake maybe since there are breaks in the video and so forth. Easy to fake, obviously, but I dunno. Those guys that speak in languages I can't understand can do things with computers and software that I don't understand too. The first time I saw a guy on youtube using a Wii controller to play Halo 2, I thought it was fake too. Now, I can do it. Doesn't help me game any better, but I can do it. Halo 3 too. COD 4 too...so what. Doesn't help any really.

HOWEVER; if you are concerned with people using a keyboard/mouse on XBL to play Halo 3 or other games, be not concerned about some Mongolian kid using this emulator. The XFPS has been around for awhile. Then the XIM. Now the XIM 2 is coming out before too long. http://www.xim360.com

I use the XIM right now. And will use the XIM 2 when it's released. I'm a dirty rotten cheater, I know. Don't worry, I'm still not very good and I almost always only play with other people using the XIM. My K/D ratio is only like 1.78. The XIM doesn't work well in Halo 3 either. The XIM 2 is supposed to work better. I dunno..

I hope Halo 3 stays on the consoles only. Halo 2 was appalling on the PC, the graphics looked a decade out of date for starters

I also agree, as my experience with the first Halo didn't leave me wanting more at all. Am I in the minority to say it was medicore at best if even that? It just seemed so damn dated for all the acclaims it was getting. Games years before it did better, and the story itself....meh. I don't feel like reading books on a bland story to get more from it when the game itself should have done that. *flamesuit on*

Back when Halo was meant for the PC (as a 3rd person online shooter) I was excited about it. Since its actual release I rate it as one of the worst shooters I've ever played. I like Master Chief and the story is pretty good but its just so unbelievably simple.

Also, Goldeneye on the N64 had better console fps multiplayer....only 2 player models with changeable colors? Give me an F'ing break.

They are average games for average people. My brother and his idiot pot-head friends love it. I'm not surprised.

Microsoft would be dumb to not put Halo3 on PC. It's a perfect poster-child for their "Games For Windows(tm)*" advertising drive. Further, as a DX10-only title, it's another reason to force people to upgrade. Now that Bungie took their ball and went home, I wonder if this project is on the very back burner, though. Me? I'd rather play it on PC at 1080p anyway.

*Only the Windows version that Microsoft allows you to have.

Man that's some ugly kids. The kid playing was cheesing so hardcore threw out the whole video, it's fake for sure. Also why is that noob lifting his fingers off asd so much.

Yeah that's what microsoft needs. Another dx10 game that doesn't actually use ANY dx10 features whatsoever just like Halo 2. If that's not an incentive to buy Vista, I dunno what is!! YEAH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!

Then, they'd probably limit the game to 30 frames per second just or the authentic "Halo" experience. Bring on the 30fps gaming goodness!! Bring it ONNNN!!!!!!!

I actually did that whole thing where you could install the dx10 dll files and run some hack startup that allowed you to install and play Halo 2 on XP. Obviously, it's kinda lame because it's Halo 2. But it was alot more fun than trying to play it on the XBOX with a control pad. Unfortunately, there was no online play enabled doing that through XP...but oh well.

I actually played Halo 3 last night for about 20 minutes. Went online. Pwn3d a few n00bs. Went to bed. It was a fulfilling night....

He has a keyboard and mouse adapter if anything. My roommate has one and plays Halo 3 on his PC monitor. EZ sniping :p

I was almost positive that Halo started off as an RTS.

I tried that, couldn't get it to run. Don't know why I even bothered trying being that the first wasn't all that good. Guess I'm a gluton for punishment? Anyway, it errored out with some sort of windows live already running error. Good thing I wasn't the one who waste money on that, so I just gave it back to my co-worker who thinks its pretty neat (not like he has much to compare ha!)
