Hacked micro sd card - help

Sorry admins, I didn't know where exactly to post this thread.

I bought a bunch of microsd cards from a vendor in China and lo-and-behold they are all hacked. I knew I was taking a risk...

They were supposed to be 16GB cards, but they are actually 4GB cards. Obviously, I don't plan on selling them anymore, but I would like to resize/repartition them to their true capacity so I can at least give them to my friends and stuff to use in phones, mp3 players, etc. and get some use out of them.

Is there a program I can download to fix these? I used "h2test" to determine they were hacked.
 
I can't find the exact article I read before, but there are several ways creating a counterfeit/fake SD cards and each must be dealt with differently. If it is done in hardware (i.e. the cards USB controller thinks the memory is larger and writes things in a loop) then the fixes are more of just working around the problem.

With the current price of 4GB microSDs being what they are, you might want to consider if it's even worth it to fix them. It probably will take some fair amount of time to figure out how to fix them/fix them, and honestly if it's from such a disreputable seller that hacked the microSDs, they probably aren't of the highest quality/reliability. You wouldn't want to give your friends a card only to have it fail a few months later and lose all their data...
 
I wouldn't take the time and effort to fix them. If the seller has taken the time to fake the size of the cards in the controller, I wouldn't put it past them using defective/sort-of-working memory chips. If you don't care whatsoever about the data you are going to put on the cards, then it will probably be a fun project, but I wouldn't trust them. i have posted here months ago a solution for a similar problem.
i simply reformatted it slightly below the reported capacity on the test program.
