Does anybody here have the silver 360 controller? What's this rechargeable thing all about? I'm assuming that this controller also accepts regular batteries, yes?

(I was about to level up in FIFA 11, after months of trying, when some guy froze me out at the end game screen after having just lost the match - so instead of leveling up, I lost 57 points. I just went bat shit crazy and walked outside and hurtled the controller at the brick work of my fireplace... just... fucking... crazy. I might have to walk away from this game. It's starting to get the better of me.)

Anyway, I'm now without a controller. Everything happens for a reason though, right? This is a cool looking product.

Also, I don't think I can go without a controller. So I'm going to have to pick this up at The Future Shop tomorrow night, if I can make it before the store closes.
 
You broke one? Noob, I've broken close to a dozen. Lost count at eight or nine.

That controller looks like a regular controller. Nothing special.
 
I break the joysticks playing FIFA all of the time, they start to get loose and you can actually rotate the joystick, not just the axis it's on the, the joystick it's self. Haven't thrown one but I've certainly ruined a few.
 
Come on man. Deal with your anger! I've gotten pissed off at games before. I've even gotten so frustrated that I've just tossed the controller up and let it drop (inadvertently breaking a couple in the process), but I've never let myself chuck it against a hard surface intentionally breaking it. I take my anger out in a more healthy way. I pick a fight with a random person on the street. Usually someone smaller than me. It's much more fulfilling. I get to work out my frustrations, and that person has an interesting story they can tell for the rest of their lives!

See? it's a win-win, and you don't even have to buy a new controller!

I don't know if that controller comes with the regular battery holder, but if yours isn't broken it will work with the silver controller.

The silver one comes with a rechargeable battery and a play and charge cable, according to the site you linked.
 
I got this controller this weekend and LOVE IT.. The digital pad actually works and you can twist it to raise or lower it.. (plus or disc) If you use the digital pad alot then i do recommend this.. The analogs remind me of the original Dual Shock from PSX days with the feeling..

Dunno, but what came up for me was a list of 4 videos. 2 of which were "Life in a Day" teasers, the other two had to do with Justin Beiber. :p

The video code was right (which is why it was so easy to figure out what you meant to post), but I don't know what the rest of it was.

Anyhow, I want this controller now, especially since my previous one is now in the trash. By the way, have you guys seen the innards of one of these things? Jesus. Complex. Super complex. I kind of regret having hurtled it at the chimney. :(

Wabe that one you linked the newly redesigned official MS 360 controller. It has an adjustable D pad for better control. If I had to buy a new one, that would be the one.
 
People are saying that the sticks have been redesigned and feel way better. It seems like a no brainer, and I'll also get the recharger kit. Maybe my transgression will pay off.
 
I would like to take this time to say it has been 4 Years 37 Days 7 Hours and 12 Minutes since the last time I ever destroyed a game controller due to game rage. Its been a long tough road, but with focus and determination I was able to put those days behind me. Now I just punch a pillow.
 
I have the MS Wireless "Silver Edition" controller that I use primarily on my PC. It has a notably different feel to the normal MS controller and if anyone wanted a X360-style gamepad wireless, I'd say its the one to get. The D-Pad is dual-mode and the sticks are slightly different, all in all an improvement. The Silver edition ONLY comes with a play-and-charge kit so you get a battery included and a USB charge cable (that cannot be used to play wired-mode, it only charges. If you need to play on the PC, you'll need a USB wireless gaming dongle).

Alternately, if you wish a Wired controller the Razer Onza seems to be the best bet. It seems to have Razer's customizations and a new take on the DPad, especially the Tournament Edition.

Finally, if you like the Playstation 3 Dual Shock stick placement, I highly suggest the new Logitech Gamepad 710, which is wireless, games that detect a X360 controller will detect it, rumbles, and has both XInput (X360 API) and DirectInput (older games) support.
 
thats why i always buy the colored controllers and just swap them out and return them with the worn down joysticks to the store. RAGE all you want but your end up using another one anyways but will it help out in your previous game that you just lost?
 
For all i know the silver ones feature a new dpad which is supposed to be better than the TERRIBLE one in regular controllers.
