*Before I begin, yes - i know corsair's closed loops are not real wc by any means, so please don't flame for that =) I've run custom loops in the past, and I picked up the H60 for convenience, minimalistic block, and temps that could compete with the best air coolers while not having the same dB output.*
I have a 2600k that's OC'd and running at ~1.38v happily. Except I think that my Corsair H60 with push/pull Gentle Typhoon fans on it is right on the verge of being saturated by the loop. A minor move of my system that slightly changed circulation took the temps from maintaining high 70s under load indefinitely to now slowly creeping up as if the loop simply slipped onto the other side of the equilibrium line and now can't dissipate the heat fast enough. It takes quite some time under constant load, but there's the definite difference that it no longer holds stable temps.
While I could try to adjust either physical location or other minor issues to swing back to the other side and maintain temp on the loop, I'm more worried that this setup is just treading the line of adequacy. I'm a little hesitant to put a custom loop back in, as I haven't played with them in years and as much fun as it is, it's a little bit of a headache, not to mention doing it in the silverstone rv-02 case. However, while I know some of the air coolers (noctua) actually can put out some slightly better numbers than corsair's closed loops, I hate a) the giant block hanging off the socket, and b) the increased noise.
Is there anything else you can think of to remedy my situation, or is really my best alternative for maintaining the OC that this chip is clearly capable of to go with a real wc loop?
