H60 in an FT02

I just installed an h60 in an ft02 with a push configuration blowing air out the top of the case where the original 120mm top fan was. One side of the radiator slightly hits the switches on the side so I couldn't put it on flush. After finding the right screws, I ended up with about a 5 degree tilt on the radiator. Not a big issue for me as I tried tugging it and there doesn't seem to be any give so no fear of it falling. While I haven't tested it much yet, cooling also seems to be decent so far.

My issue is that it's a bit noisier that I thought. I don't know though if the ~5 degree radiatior/fan tilt is contirbuting to increased noise. So should I:
1. Do a push/pull configuration on the same top location? This will eliminate the bad angle.
2. Change the fan? The fan is supposed to be better in terms of static pressure/noise and I'm not sure if there are better alternatives.
3. Move the radiator to the bottom on top of the AP's? That might reduce the noise that I can hear.

As a side note, I wish they included another set of screws to make reversing the airflow or doing a p/p easier. Installing the pump assembly was a breeze though.

Push/pull will give better temps. What kind of noise are you hearing? If it's fan noise, there's not much you can do about it besides switching the fan for something like a Noctua or Gentle Typhoon. If it's a rattling noise, definitely remount the radiator.
 
I'm thinking it may be fan noise, but I'll listen to it more carefully later. I was too sleepy last night to play around with it just yet.

Does the gentle typhoon have equal or better static pressure vs the standard fans that come witih the hydros?
 
Gentle typhoons are one of the best radiator fans you can use. They're quieter than other fans at the same airflow and static pressure, and they have better static pressure than most fans at the same RPM range.
 
Listened to it carefully and it's really just the fan. Will just get new fans but the gentle typhoons seem to be elusive and hard to find at the big stores though. I'm going to have to wait til then. At least my temps are better though and it's now much nicer to look at, yay!

I've just gone through something similar. I swapped out my stock Intel cooler for a Corsair H60. I removed the rear (i.e. top) 120mm exhaust fan that Silverstone shipped with the case and replaced it with Corsair's. I figured surely replacing the stock cpu cooler and one case fan with a single fan would result in a quieter build. Nope.

FWIW, that Corsair fan is definitely louder than the stock Intel cooler + stock Silverstone fan.

Gentle typhoons seem to come in three RPM speeds. What do you recommend?
