H60 in AM3 mount?

I just installed an H60 on my brand new AM3 build, and was wondering how tight I should screw it in to the mounting bracket. The OEM heatsinks usually have a lever mechanism so you don't have to worry about tightness, so this makes me wonder.

I have it on pretty tight and the cooling performance looks great so far, but I want to make sure I'm not over-tightening the water block onto the CPU!

As long as it's not cracking the mounting plate, I think you're good to go. Besides, those things tend to snap rather than break slowly.

That's why I'm asking lol. I don't want it to snap. Just thought someone here may have installed one of these on an AM3 before and would know the "right" way to mount it.

I should have been more clear -- I have not tightened it down as far as it will go. Yes, I agree that it would snap instantly and not simply weaken over time.

I'm concerned about over-tightening not only for the bracket, but also the CPU itself. I would not want to put too much pressure on the processor... but I suppose they're made to withstand pressure of huge heavy heatsinks anyway?
 
its probably limited on how far you can tighten it to avoid breakage... or thats how some heatsinks i have had in the past were..
 
Personally if something has thumbscrews i'd do it up as tight as I can by hand but I wouldn't use a screwdriver to tighten it.
