H50 using a different rad?

I bought an h50 setup, it works decent I guess. I have been looking, and seeing other rad setups. I like the triple 120mm rad I saw somewhere. and I have a Corsair 800d case. I am wondering and need your guys help.

Would the h50 pump, work with a triple 120mm rad? do you think its strong enough to pump the larger rad, or do you think it even matters that its larger?

I seen a guy with a h50 pump that had changed out his lines and put clear ones in place.
 
If you can fit it up it should work much better. I think the pump could handle it and it might be the larger rad would actually be less restriction for the pump. It is kinda like putting lipstick on a pig but it seems a reasonable upgrade step.

Disclaimer, pure speculation, never tried it. I would run the H50 with the computer off and feel the pump housing and see how warm it got with the stock rad (to get an idea of how hard the pump was working) and then do the same thing with the bigger rad. A big increase in pump/housing temp would tell you the pump was straining and its life might be shortened and the rad was too much. /shrug.

It's been done, but there is quite a bit to it.

You have to,

-Cut the tubing
-Clean it out
-Replace Tubing with the same previous size
-Submerge the rad, and block in the coolant you are using
-Make sure there isn't bubbles
-Clamp all tubing down
-Hope it's not to extraneous on the pump

It's just easiest to not mess with it in my opinion. If you are going to be cutting up tubing, buying rads and coolant, why didn't you or whoever just go with a real water cooling setup. Takes about the same amount of work, and works much better. It will only cost a little more.

I figured it would do the job. Hell, I have water cooled back in the day DangerDen Maze 1 with ehiem 1250 pump, 4 core dodge diesel rad (3 feet long) passive cooling no fan needed.

Still have that stuff not hooked up anymore as the block was for a t-bird amd cpu

I wanted a self contained setup that was less bs to setup and tinker with and be in house on my new case. Just the voltage I am pushing on this 2 core cpu is retarted and the heat is big time.

If its easy enough to do. I'd rather just use the h50 head/pump and plumb a larger rad in it. I am not sure if the pump is strong enough or not.

if push comes to shove I guess I could order another water block and turn on my ehiem 1250 pump again. but its a pain in the ass with the weight of the hoses on the case etc.
 
Ah well, performance would be better ;)

And just to clarify - You have to submerge all the parts (tubing, rad, block/pump) and attach them together in the coolant. Really the only way to bleed it properly.
