Hello, I just purchased the H50 to install in my Antec 900 w/ X4 955 BE

I was reading up on a bunch of different ways to set up the fan, push pull, rear intake/exhaust, etc.

I was wondernig, for the Antec 900, what's the optimal way to set this up? Is push-pull much louder? Is it worth it or should I just set it up normally? Do people exhaust air out the back of the 900 or take in?

Thanks for any help

imho the 900 should work well with the H50 in the reccomended configuration which is to draw in cool air from outside the case across the radiator exhausting warm air into the case. That big ass fan right above the radiator exhaust should suck most of it up and out of the case minimizing the impact of adding more warm air into the case.

You've still got the 2 front fans drawing cool air in and if I was using an H50 I would also use the side fan to blow air towards the motherboard. If you have specific area's on the motherboard your worried about, these http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/product.php?id=ODA= work well.

Oh, and they definitely work better in push-pull.

Yep that is exactly how my is set up at the moment.

That fan looks interesting, might have to pick up one. :)

can i just use my antec 900's rear 120mm tricool and the h50 stock fan to do push pull?

how much louder is a push pull setup? noise is a concern for me, i'm thinking 2 fans is obviously louder than one.. is it just a couple degrees better or a huge improvement in temp? if it's not too much improvement, id rather keep minimize the noise w/ only 1 fan

also, in a push pull setup, the inside fan is pushing air out while the outter fan is taking air in? or do i have it backwards

thanks

Your gonna want to flip that tricool around so it sucks air in from the outside.
Mount the H50 to that and make sure the fan attached to the H50 is set to blow into the case thus sucking the warm air out of the radiator.
No doubt push pull makes more noise but I think I've seen 4-5C difference, which is nothing to sneeze at, when the H50 gets 2 fans. Just look for recent H70 reviews. In all of the recent H70 reviews, everybody is testing the H50 with 2 fans now. :D H70 still beats it but not by much (~3C) when the H50 has 2 fans.
