H50 0rpm?

Just upgraded my rig to a 1090t with an H50. First impression, WOW!!! I've never seen temps this low. 35-38c @ full load, higher temps later in the day when the room is a tad warmer. I've been keeping HWMonitor up, and I've noticed that the water pump will occaisonally read 0, and then after about 5 seconds return to it's normal reading of about 1336rpm. Is this a sensor issue, or does the pump stop and restart itself?
 
Sounds like you connected your pump to a pin connector on your mother board and the motherboard is controlling the conditions that your pump turns on or off.

As far as I know the pump is either on or off when proper voltage is applied to the motor.
 
Yes, I did connect the pump to a 3-pin header on the motherboard. But I turned AMD CnQ and Qfan off so that PWM doesn't control them, all fans should be running at 100% (although HWMonitor says 99%). I'm not noticing any abnormal spikes in cpu temp, so I'm willing to write this off as a temporary probe glitch. I just hate that momentary feeling of dread when you see something like this drop to zero.
 
You could cut up a fan extention cable and use it to insert a multimeter set-up for current measurement in the feed to the fan. If the current stays constant it's probablly a sensor glitch, if the current goes up it's probablly the pump stalling, if the current falls to zero it's probablly the motherboard turning the pump off.
 
If I find that the pump is stalling, is that cause for return, or is that normal? This is my first experience with watercooling.

That is what I would do.

I run my H50 cooler pump connected straight to a 12volt 4pin power source from the PSU.
 
I can't tell if there is a hiccup or not, but after doing some tests it would appear as though the PWM is only running 99%, and during the occaisonal time that the probe checks exactly when that tiny 1% point happens, it shows 0rpm. I will join the club and get a 3pin to 4pin adapter and run it from a molex connector instead of a fan header. Thanks for the tip.
