I just signed up for the live discount but it looks like you dont get the cash until after you make the purchase. Doesnt actually take any cash off this video card right now.

it would be slightly better. Since the 8800GT is like %90 of the 8800GTX , i would be safe to say that the gtx260 would be ~%60 (1.6x) better.

but if you game at 2560 x 1600 (30' LCD) youd see a 2x increase....but if you had a 30 LCD i dought u have a 8800gt.

very rough estimates:

4870x2 > gtx280 > gtx260 = 4870 > 4850 > any 8xxxgt and probably the 9xxx too, at least for bang for buck

Shows OOS on Amazon and Backordered on ED for both stock and SC editions.
 
man hope they ship... my order status still says in queue. time to return the 4870x2. not worth 600$ after tax for this fire breathing monster.

Give them a call -- they were pretty helpful when I called a few hours ago to confirm the price/shipping.
 
wait.wait...this is way to good to be true. Is it open box!! I dont think so. lol Im about to jump on this and whats that stuff I read earlier in the post that people were not sure of the eligibility of EVGA's step up or warranties? Im pretty sure if you just register the card when you get it you can have all the EVGA goodies. Am I wrong?
 
My cash back is not showing up? I redid the order for it. Or did using Paypal screw it up? they said wait 48 hours but others are getting the email right off. I got the confirmation email for my account but it says nothing avalable.

Yeah, you can't use paypal. Just cancel the order and reorder using a credit card through the live.com link.

Someone called eVGA and they confirmed that warrantee is valid with registration... I'd assume stepup as well.

Can't do that now, they are out of stock. damn it. still have the rebate forum though. but Live search will not accept Pay pal ? what is the issue and is there any way around it?

There's still the option of buying the SSC for 240 and getting a 48 cashback, though that puts it into 200$ territory.
