[H]igh wattage fan controller?

I don't think any computer fan controller could handle one of those. As cool as it would be to have one of those huge fans, it's not very practical...I guess each person can decide but they want, but that thing would be loud, and probably not get you much more than a couple good smaller fans.

I don't disagree it would probably be loud, but it has WAY more surface area than any rad you could buy right now... and its listed at 950CFM full blast, id imagine with the voltage turned down itd be fine... and it could cool your whole machine to boot =)

Have you ever listened to a car electric fan running just by itself? Inside a room itd be nuts and no turning it down to half speed would change that much.

You want a big ass fan pulling high CFM get this puppy: http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/fan-88.html
Its only a small fraction of the size of the one your looking at and still is 56dba at 265cfm

Well I'm really trying to shoot for low noise high air movement thats why I was looking at larger fans. I've got AC fans we use in our house and on low rpms they still move a crapload of air but are nearly quiet....
