[H] front page hangs firefox

I can barely use the site because of all the scripts hanging firefox (14.0.1) - it becomes unresponsive and eventually asks to shut down one of a number of different scripts, which has little effect whether I kill them or not.

Not sure what the problem is, however I don't seem to be having it on any other site I've been browsing

I'm also using FF 14.0.1 and I have absolutely no problems on the [H] front page, or any other part of the site. Have you tried disabling some of your plugins to see if they might be causing the problem (if you're using any plugins)?

well... fwiw... i started noticing problems on other sites and the browser has been nonfunctional for most of the afternoon. It seems that a number of updates for various plugins weren't being downloaded or applied.
