For the longest time, I could not figure why I wasn't getting any email notices of new PM's and stuff.

And today, I looked at the mail logs to find out that Hera is misconfigured.

Code:
Mar 8 22:19:17 SgtSrvr postfix/smtpd[27331]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from unknown[75.126.99.220]: 450 4.7.1 Client host rejected: cannot find your hostname, [75.126.99.220]; from=<root@hardforum.com> to=<**myemail@address**> proto=ESMTP helo=<hera.hardforum.con>

Note that the "helo" response is for "hera.hardforum.con"
When it should be "hera.hardforum.com"
("helo" responses are checked to weed out spam...so in essence, it gets blocked as being spam)

... helo=<hera.hardforum.con>

u see the "n"?
yea..."n" != "m" (optionally insert Seasame Street joke here)
A typo is a mis-config.

And since "hera.hardforum.con" doesn't properly resolve, it's in violation of the SMTP spec (section 3.6, page 22, RFC2821 defines what domains are and page 29 defines the "HELO"/"EHLO" commands which use the aforementioned domains)

1. No, im blind.
2. No again, i did not read your post.
3. That has nothing to do with the MTA program itself.
4. If you read your log entry again, you would actually realize it didn't reject because of the helo.

Maybe try doing a DIG and see what you get.

But then again your reading a rule that applies to the RFC standards.

smh

never said that was my main and only reason....for not getting [H] mail.

either way, I checked the logs and the typo in "helo" seems to be fixed now.
that was all I was reporting: the typo, so stop thread-crapping...it's so un-[H] :p

(besides I added [H]era to my whitelist anyways)

I guess i wouldn't of needed to thread crap as you put it, if you didn't post what you did, reading your own post & understanding the error, might of helped you post correctly about the actual issue as well.

It don't matter if the typo is there or not, their is NO dns record for hera, its not even pingable.

Again it didn't fail for the helo.

wow dude....go outside and splash some cold water or if you smoke...get a pack or something...better yet...go to costco and get it in bulk.

the typo was the only issue I came here to get resolved....apparently...u got more.

The typo wasn't the issue & won't be, seeing as you can't grasp the basic concept of reading your own error msg or reading what i posted trying to explain it to you, i wont waste any more time trying to get you to read it.

Unfortunately, you also want to lay blame on me for something you started in post 3, maybe if you wasnt a smartass in that post, but reading is fundamental.

I will tell you again though, the helo isn't the issue & the typo makes no difference, when there is no DNS record for that hostname, which if you read your own error m\sg, you would realize that is why it failed.
