Hey you young miscreants with minds full of mush! :D

When you head back to school talk to your teachers, see if it's OK to borg some machines for the [H]orde! I know it's almost August, but Septembeer is a heartbeat away. I'f they say yes, sign 'em up for team 33. If they say no, then obey your elders (st00pid adultz :p )

well, i'm already in the process of getting a (grade) school folding under my name (tho it helps to be the son of the guy who runs the network and manages all the computers:p) that should be about 40-50 900-1.2 athlons and a few 2.4 p4's and maybe a p3 or two. so that's cool (i got 12 of the 1.2's going already i think - just need to see if my dad is going to upgrade to fedora core 2 before the school year starts, then put the F@H script in the startup script - whee!) the machines are all linux boxes (duh) that basically sit there all day, and every once in a while (well maybe a bit more often) they are called upon for the difficult task of running openoffice or mozilla. they're all gonna be under team 33 and my username (they make up the 14ghz garden i mention in my sig... it's growing into a farm:))

i also talking to one of my friends about putting F@H on the bunch of 1.7 (i think - they may be 2.4) p4s that they have in the computer lab at my high school... only problem is that they get reimaged about every other week or so  so they'd be losing WUs. they also have a lab of p3 machines (i think 500mhz, but maybe as high as 750 or something) which they could get going. they're all running win2k and get a bit more use (the java class(es) run compilers, but that's about as intense as it gets - and the compiler is on the 100mbit network so it is slow as crap. whoever set it up that way should be forced to debug/compile programs while 10 other people are doing the same thing - hehe) so they may or may not get folding on them... if they do i'll try to make sure it is at least under team 33 (and hopefully my username too:D)

and my mind is not mush! (gpa 4.1 or so... and it could be better if i really cared)

i'm heading to a brand new high school next year, plan to try to b0rg (with permission :D) it, my old middle school, and my old elementary school (they've all been built quite recently).

with luck that'll be around, 150-200 computers :D
