Guys, you all should be warned about this company. http://www.pccoolerus.com/

They are sending out email to countless thousands now saying they are the makers/distributors of the 7000 series Zalman coolers.

I've spoken to Zalman and they had this to say:

" Zalman contacted them and sent a consultant to their offices and found that they do not really exist. They are a fictitious paper company. I think they know what they are doing is illegal but are trying to get suckers to send them money. "

Just thought I'd let you guys know before you get suckered.

Thanks for the head's up Stress. How bout how all the product pictures on thier product page are 3D rendered insted of actual products?

hummmmmmmmm......

Edit: Nice website tho... would have fooled me. They even have instalation instructions.

Where in the email did it say that they are the makers/distributors of the 7000 series Zalman coolers?

the point here being that there is no office/company there. Just a paper company. You know... You drive to someones address and all you find is a corn field where the business/hose is supposed to be?

He spelled "hesitate" wrong. I wouldn't have bought anything from them anyways :p. Thanks for the warning though, it's always appreciated around here.

if you go to their website the proudly proclaim to be as such, even going so fas as to claim patent on the design. Which of course they claim they got in november.

All the CPU cooler we made are bearing the same feratures:
a. High effecience for heatsinking;
b. Stable and quiet in performane;
c. Widely compatible.

High performane heatsinking indeed :p

I wonder if they would kindly give us the patent number so that we may look it up for ourselves... that is public information ya know.

well they are located in "Shenzhen" somewhere near the south china seas? something tells me that they arnt worried about infringing on Zalman's patents, and their "patents" may not be US..

besides the spelling/grammer (which is not un-common with all the tiwan mobo sites etc) i dont see anything terribly wrong with them...

if you look at some of thier pages they have product pics, and even the hsf's in packaging and such...

dunno, but dont you think if they were knocking off zalman's designes, it would be in zalmans best interest to create a lot of FUD around them?

just playing devil's advocate ;)

They put some effort into the graphics (exploded diagrams, 3D views, engineering views, renders, etc) but the site itself is a series of rips from other sites I have seen. There is some serious spelling/grammar problems as well... a bit is normal when dealing with Pacific Rim electronics and PC companies usually, but some of the pages read like a babelfish translation.

Has anyone actually noticed the fact that they don't look like the 7000 Zalman? I mean sure, the general design is somewhat similar, but that has been going on in the HSF industry for awhile. Remember all of the knock offs of the "patented" thermaltake orb coolers. I seriously doubt Zalman sent someone to the address this company is supposed to be located. I mean think about it...probably not.

IIRC HP originally made the "orb" coolers in some of their OEM PC's

they still use some "orb" like coolers for their P4 workstations

and like i said before, this dosent sound like a scam... anyway do they even sell to the US?

probably not i am assuming...

Looks like a Comair rotron on the fan. Hmm, a 172mm fan on the CPU....

Aglient was actually the company that invented and patented Orb alike heatsinks. The difference between Agilent one and "orb" is quite big, Agilent one is suppose to be once piece design while orb was created to "look like" Agilent ones.

I seriously doubt this is a scam. Probably some heatsink manufacture in China trying to make some presence in US.

"They are sending out email to countless thousands now saying they are the makers/distributors of the 7000 series Zalman coolers"

This is interesting since the e-mail doesn't state they were the original manufacture of Zalman.

I don't know if Zalman stuff are made in China or not, if so, there is a possibility that this company DOES make heatsink for Zalman. Maybe the factory decided to go around and cut off Zalman or had some business disagreement with Zalman.

Everyone remember those older Antec cases were made by Chenming? And now Chenming forms Chieftec and went around Antec for the market.

Incase you didn't follow this thread in the Cooling section here, Both! manufactures got involved in it.

This is not true. I for one, have personally been to Zalmans facility in Seoul, Korea. And not only do they house the corporate offices there, they also have all the labor/machining.assy lines there as well..

anyway, i stand by my original statement... i think zalman is pissed somone is copying them.... either way... this thread isnt going to produce anything useful... so off it goes
