[H]ard stereo stacks

c'mon, no PC sound card beats a huge, lumbering, old-school stereo. I know you have 'em.

Denon DRA-755 receiver
Yamaha PlayXChange 5 CD Changer
Denon Cassette Deck DR-M20
Denon Quartz "Micro Processor controlled" phonograph

It's all hooked into some 12" JBL speakers with built in tweeters. All inherited from my father, of course, he finds it funny that I dusted it off a few months ago and set it up... I was just going for volume.

Now, if I can find a way to patch these monster speakers into a Sound Blaster Live!, I'd be happy.

And yes, that copy of The Envoy is my prized posession.

Now, if I can find a way to patch these monster speakers into a Sound Blaster Live!, I'd be happy.

Easy enough. Get a headphone jack signal splitter, plugged into the front speaker output, and send only the front speakers signal to the reciever with a miniplug to RCA adapter, and however long of a mini-to-mini cable you need to get it from one spot to the other.

I wanted to get the kind of setup my dad had in the 80s (seriously) so I spent a lot of time trawling flea markets and lawn sales and spent a little bit of time doing some repairs, and I ended up with:

It's old-school Sony, circa 1980-somethingorother.
Sony TA-AX520 Receiver
Sony SEQ-120 EQ
Sony ST-JX520
Marantz TT4200 Turntable
with some equally old-school Pioneer 3-way 150w floor speakers.

And no, there is no CD player, I use that input for the PC.
