I'll post a the draft rules in this thread by COB Saturday (midnight EST :) and allow a couple of days of comments before posting them in the contest thread, just a heads up.

Sorry about missing the deadline guys. I bought Forza Motorsports yesterday and got caught up in it (not good for the eyes) and was not able to put the controller down until around 1230 last night. Below are the preliminary rules. They are open ended about the rest of the contest, because as shown in last years contest, it is hard to predict how many art entries we will have and the quantity from each artist:

Please comment on these rules and suggest changes. The period for comment will end 10PM EST on Thursday 27 July 2006.

**Begin draft rules**

This thread is for submission of Case badges for our team. Here are the rules:

1. Submission due date is 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time on *enter final submission date here*.
2. Official submission will be an e-mail to me at hardcasebadge AT gmail DOT com. Attach the appropriately sized artwork to your e-mail, please include your Hardocp forum name.
3. The art must be submitted to the guidelines as stated below in the Art Guidelines section.
4. Badge entries should reflect the nature of our team (UD and FAH).
5. You can submit multiple concepts.
6. By submitting the artwork you are agreeing to its use by the Hardfolding team for use as case badges.
7. Please make sure you don't include any copyrighted material in the use of the case badge unless you have express written approval to do so.

Art Guidelines:
1. Format: JPG, BMP, TIFF or GIF
2. Submit in actual size. (works out to 600x600 pixels)
3. Resolution: 600 dpi
4. Size 1"x1" (25mmx25mm)

Note:
Please post designs to this Thread for comment/suggestions. I will start another thread for the actual judging after the submittal phase ends.

The judging phase of this contest will begin shortly (within 2 weeks) after the entries have been submitted. The format for the contest phase will not be determined until all entries are submitted. All suitable entries will have at least one chance to be voted on as the winning badge. Artists having artwork in the final judged contest (last poll) will receive 1 case badge, free, as a thank you for participating.

Case badge orders will be limited to [H]ard|DC members that have the following minimum stats (if you haven't begun putting your computers to work start now and you might have the points when the badges are ready for order):
FAH members: 7,500 points
UD members: 60,000 points

**End draft rules**

I think that about covers it. :D May the art flow forth freely.

Should we save time and just have the mods pick one?

;)

Screw the mods :)

edit: Plus, I don't know what their artistics tastes are.

Since we can't use copyrighted material, does that mean no green/red protein, and no blue UD oval thing? Just checking.

My first response is yes (in other words no use of the Stanford/UD items). We have the okay to use [H]ardOCP stuff as appropriate (not in writing specifically and at the decision of Kyle) but otherwise I would stay away from copyrights/trademarks.
