I need a display for everday tasks and especially gaming. I want a flat panel at 19inch or higher for under 450 bucks. I want to attach it to a robot arm thing so i can move it out of the way and such. I need suggestions on an lcd that meets these specs I can attach to a robot arm.
 
viewsonic for the win... VX924 4ms responce time 416 bucks woooo i got 1 on my desk right now and a vp191 nexto it with 8ms from 4 to 8 theres not much of a diffrence though the picture quality on the vx is a little nicer :)

First, you must approach the robot and ask nicely for its arm. Then...sorry, but I had to. :)

Don't know much about the "robot" arm, but a search for the VP191b should give you plenty of information.
 
lol...I searched for the moniters but can't find anything on ataching a robot arm

You don't say? The L-90D+ is a well known gaming monitor, but it is in the end a 6-bit TN panel, which means less color fidelity. But for many gamers that doesn't seem to matter much.
 
just from the title of this thread i knew that a n00b started it (the all caps and [H] gave it away :) )


anyways, the viewsonic LCDs are really nice, but I am still amazed by the dell 2405
 
Yes a lot of people overlook the fact most LCDs have horrible black levels during gaming ..I just returned a 2001FP because of it , It was my first LCD purchase and made me realise how good my current 21" Sony G520P CRT really is :cool:
 
As far as your "robot arm" thing goes, most LCD's I have worked with support a standard mounting system composed of 4 screw points in a square pattern on the back. In fact, I think they even have an official standard for this mounting titled VESA or something like that. As long as the monitor arm and LCD monitor itself both say they use this standard mounting, they should work fine together. If you are interested in that L-90D+ monitor I would recommend searching the forums. That was a huge deal a little while ago so I'm sure there are many posts about it.
 
That L90 may technically be best "gamer" monitor, but I'd still go with something like a 2005FPW instead. It's so much nicer in so many ways. Regarding backlighting, do you have one? Mine is completely fine, it seems that if you buy one now... odds are that it will be more or less fine. You just see the few peole who get problems complaining, most of which were from back when the monitors first started to come out.
