For gaming?

Get the 2500k cpu. Its newer platform and excells in gaming and will cost ways less. Plus you get better price=performance out of it.

i have 3 Acer P243w LCD moniters allready, 1920X1200. :)

then get a 2600k with a Asus Maximus mobo.

Oh sorry your resolution.
Do you want to go Amd way or nvidia. nvidia you'll need 3 cards probably to run that high resolution on all three.
Maybe two Gtx 580s
Amd two cards will do. Amd don't scale that well with a tri cf setup.
What's your budget for the gpus?
I notice that board I linked is sold out.
So you'll going have to look for another mobo.
But 2500k or 2600k will be way better with your intentions

No budget really, Sucks that Newegg has everything but the MOBO, im gonna check Microcenter, there is one 20 miles from my house, there is a FRYs as well.

Go for the 6950 2gb versions then put em in Crossfire.
The cpu its really your choice.
The 2600k got a stronger IMC which means it can run rated over 2000mhz if overclocked.
The 2500k will stop short of 2000mhz with its IMC.
But 2600k has ht which is pretty much useless in gaming. So its your choice if you want to pay a 100 usd more for the bit of a oc on the ram or ht.

for gaming, i5 2500k. you'll see very little difference with the 2600k. save the $100 for the gpu.

Yes.

Yes.

However, isn't the 1366 socket still considered as the ultimate gaming platform (due to more pci lanes)?
Nonetheless, if it was me I would buy a used 1156 socket real cheap on fleabay (just to get by if you have nothing now unless you are a millionaire so-to-say) and upgrade to 2011 socket or Bullldozer when they come out.

OKAY here it is, I have a Case and 3 X Powercolor 6970 cards from Newegg on the way to team up with all this goodness.

Hi Marcdaddy. Nice components.
Those OCZ SSDs are about to have a massive price drop due to version 3 coming out.
Let me know how those sticks of ram go. I was thinking about those GTs for my 1156 build. Hopefully you can reach 2000Mhz with no more than 1.65v and CR1|1T.
Isn't that PSU overkill for your system though? :D It would have to be draining a minimum of 240 watts at all times in order for it to be efficient (between 20-80% of rating) which of course is obviously doable if the system is either under load or has power saving features turned off.

I've been running 2600k with the latest games (Dragon Age 2, Crysis2, Bulletstorm) without a problem and have no problems whatsoever and would recommend a 2500k/2600k to anyone currently looking to build.

Mobos are out of stock due to Intel recall.

Motherboards are available, but not always the one you want where you want it. B3 version is revised chipset.

On the GFX cards.

You might want to go with a 6990 + 6970 CFX with how SB Mobo's have PCI-E lanes.

Or just run the 6990, and if you still need higher FPS in your fav games by running FRAPS then order up the 6970 at a later date or if you have the crazy mad cash go for dual 6990's in CFX bro! :p That's the BEAST way of doing it and you sound like YOUR A [H] PC BUILDING BEAST 2 me. :)

I got the SSD for $79.99 Plus a $10 mail in rebate from Microcenter, The Motherboard is REVISION 3 :) THe cards and Case are almost here!

get a 2 way 6950 cfx setup. Flash them to 6970 and overclock them past 6970 speeds

I have both 2600 and 2500 both Ks and I cant tell the difference in gaming to be honest. So just get one or the other based on your HT needs or get a 1366 I7-950 or something like that if you want tri channel memory.

Edit^ didnt see that you ordered. Good stuff! Enjoy..
