Ok, guys. Here's my problem.
I have bought a used Gigabyte gtx580. The first 3 or 4 days everything works perfect. Then one morning as I turn on the pc. The fan goes crazy and I can hear the fanspeed is up'ed a lot.
All the programs I use for monitoring says the fanspeed is 40% but they all also says it runs at 4150rpm, which actually would be closer to 70% fanspeed.
I have no control of the fanspeed at all. From I push the "on" button on my pc till I shut it down it runs at 4150rpms.
It says it idles at 28C and when gaming 70C. Thoses were the same temps I would get when the fan was working as it should and were almost silent.
The card and fans are clean, no dust. The card works great and can play every game nicely. But the sound of the fan is driving me crazy.
I know I could try and add new paste, but I don't think that's the problem.
Could this sound like a broken sensor? Or do you guys have any other guesses? I HAVE tried a fresh install of windows.
Thansk
