GTX460 ocing

I have 2 zotac gtx460 768mb and am going to overclock them.
The stock settings are 675 / 3600/1350 engine/memory/shader, what would be a SAFE oc to set them to? Im using fire storm to oc them, will this do both cards or just 1?

I suspect those cards are actually clocked at 710 already. this is presuming you got them from newegg recently.

for a good baseline, open up furmark or kombustor and your overclocking app. get a cpu stress app running at the same time to generate some extra heat in the case. keep upping the cards 10 mhz at a time until you see atifacts or excessive heat. then dial back the speed a full 25 mhz to give yourself a safe zone to operate in. do this separately for both the core and the ram.

Occelaris, ^^ has solid advice. BTW do this for both cards, When you dial back set the cards at the same speed. Just so you know they CAN run at different speeds but it's better to run at the same. GTX 460 overclocks very well, so dont be shocked if your around 900mhz+ on the core 1800+ on the shader and over 2000 on the memory without any instability. People have pushed the card to there or higher on air. YMMV though (your mileage may vary)

That'd have to be the 1Gb version @ quite a high overclock you know...

At 1.062v we were able to get the card to up 930MHz

And that is a high overclock.

Anywho, the guy has 2 of them, so you're probably good for say 850 on the core on both? Seems to be the golden number.
