Need some help here with an odd ball problem.

I got a gtx295 and a 8800 gts in my box. Have a 28' and a 22' monitor ( each on a seperate card).

When I hook up the 295 to the 28 incher the desktop is shifted to left about a 1/2" at 1920x1200. When I hook up the 28 incher to the 8800 at the same res, looks great.

do i have a defective card?

Just for clarification: I can see about half of the start button in vista 64. I an unable to see the back arrow in any browser.

If more info is needed, just ask for it.

Edit: just wanted to add that if i drop the res to 1680x1050 and maximize the window, it displays fine. I change it back to the monitors native res ( 1920x1200 ), it shifts to left again.

thanks in advance.

Adjust the Horizontal/Vertical positioning with your monitor settings. Sounds like that's all that's wrong to me :)

That's what I was thinking. It's located in the nvidia control panel, it's called adjust CRT monitor position.

tried all that.

The problem seems to be over scaling? I guess it thinks my monitor is a HDTV instead of a monitor. So its trying to output 1920x1080 instead of 1920x1200. That is what I can gather so far. I have extracted my EDID from my monitor and tried the hacked driver method of fixing this problem to no avail.

The method is explained here:

any other ideas>?
