I know, I know, I know

I want a 4870 so I can ride the ATI wave if it ever comes in? But I know what the 216 260 will do right now. And I really like my 192 260.

Is there any real hope the ATI wave will roll in? I just want to be there if it does. But not get hurt if it doesn't. Don't want to be setting on the beach with a big red sunburn so to speak. :p

I can live with either card for gaming, since 1680x1050 is my native res on my 20"w LCD. Why must everything revolve around the fold? :)

A GTX260 currently puts out more than double the points that a 4870 does under most circumstances. Coming from someone who owns one, if you're looking for a folding card, stick with the 260.

Don't know when, if ATI come, but things change with folding, get what you want to game with and then fold with it.

If it is fold first, game second, get the 260 and just know things can will change.

I came home with a 192 GTX260. Got darn near a net deal on the card. So now I have a matching pair of them. I just could not make myself pull the trigger on the 4870. Not when the 260 was the same price.

So right now I have 2ea. 260's and the 8800GT folding. The 8800GTS-320 will find a home else where when a power supply shows up. In the end I will end up with about 3k more PPD. Plus I have my future SLI X58 cards. :)

And So It Goes.

Good choice, psyshack.
I was ready to build a 4870X2 gaming rig, but built a second nVidia based box for the speed at which the wu's are completed/points. ;)

Sad to say, I think one of my 280s is giving up the ghost and will have to be RMA'd.
EVGA has a great RMA record though.
